Win the eTrophy 2026
The eTrophy is being held for the eighth time, while the Electrifly-In Switzerland (EFIS) event celebrates its tenth edition—a special anniversary! This year, the competition will be held in four categories:
In addition to the longest non-stop flight to Bern Airport (LSZB) within the specified time window in the Electric, Hybrid, and Glider categories, we are introducing a new challenge. In the Electric category, the award for the longest multi-leg flight will also be presented.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday afternoon as the closing event of the Electrifly-In Switzerland.
The total prize fund is CHF 14,000, once again generously sponsored by Waterjet AG.
In each category, the following prizes will be awarded:
- 1st Place: eTrophy & CHF 2,000
- 2nd Place: CHF 1,000
- 3rd Place: CHF 500

Rules and Safety Considerations for the eTrophy
Our goal is to keep the rules as simple as possible. As the organizers of this competition, we ask all participants to demonstrate fair play at all times. In particular, we expect all submitted flight data to be accurate and truthful.
Safety is our highest priority. Each team and pilot is solely responsible for the planning and execution of their flight.
Aircraft Categories
Electric:
- Single energy storage system.
Hybrid:
- Electric propulsion system using more than one energy storage system or energy source, or a parallel hybrid configuration.
Glider:
- Equipped with an electric motor.
- Self-launch capable.
The aircraft must be piloted by a human pilot. UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) are not permitted. The Electrifly-In Switzerland Board will determine the competition category for each aircraft. Participants will be informed of their assigned category after registration.
The Board reserves the right to modify the category definitions. Exceptions may be granted in borderline cases.
Competition Rules
Plan your electric flight according to the following schedule:
- Earliest landing: Friday, 11 September 2026, 14:00 LT (12:00 UTC)
- Latest landing: Sunday, 13 September 2026, 12:00 LT (10:00 UTC)
For every minute before or after the above time window, 1 nautical mile (NM) will be deducted from the recorded flight distance.
Non-Stop Flight
Applicable to all three aircraft categories listed above.
The competition distance is the direct distance from the departure aerodrome (ARP or runway centreline) to Bern Airport (LSZB) (ARP).
Multi-Leg Flight
Applicable only to the Electric aircraft category.
The flight begins at the departure aerodrome and proceeds to Bern Airport (LSZB) via intermediate landing aerodromes for battery charging. Neither the departure aerodrome nor LSZB may be used as an intermediate stop. Each intermediate aerodrome may only be used once. The same aircraft (same registration) must be used for the entire journey. Multiple pilots may participate as a team. Ground transport of the aircraft is not permitted.
The total competition distance is calculated as the sum of the direct distances between consecutive aerodromes (ARP or runway centreline) flown in sequence.
Earliest departure for the first leg: Monday, 7 September 2026, 08:00 UTC.
Flights will be evaluated according to the category selected during registration, either Non-Stop or Multi-Leg. A flight cannot be entered in both categories.
Verification of Departure and Intermediate Aerodromes
The pilot or pilot team must submit the signed “Departure Aerodrome Confirmation” form(s) to the eTrophy coordinator, Manuel Knuchel, no later than 30 minutes after landing.
Flight Log
The flight must be recorded as an .IGC file (or .GPX) and submitted no later than 30 minutes after landing.

The jury consists of the members of the Electrifly-In Switzerland Organising Committee.
