Win the eTrophy 2025
The eTrophy is now being held for the fifth time. Our sponsor Waterjet AG has just extended its contract with us, guaranteeing us further events in the coming years.
The main goal remains the longest non-stop flight with electric propulsion to the destination airport Bern (LSZB) within the defined time frame.
The competition will again be held in three categories: electric, hybrid and glider.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday afternoon as the final attraction of Electrifly-In Switzerland.
Total prize money is CHF 15’000.- In each category you can win:
- 1st place: eTrophy & CHF 3’000.-
- 2nd place: CHF 1’500.-
- 3rd place: CHF 500.-

Rules and Regulations of the eTrophy
The aim is to keep the rules as simple as possible. We as organization of the competition ask you as a participant for fairplay in every respect. Safety is a top priority and the flight execution is in full responsibility of every team an every pilot.
Basic Competition Rule
The basic rule is simple: Longest non-stop flight to Bern (LSZB) with an electric propulsion system.
Plan your electric flight as follows:
earliest landing: Friday, 6 September 2024, 1400 LT or 1200 UTC
latest landing: Sunday, 8 September 2024, 1200 LT or 1000 UTC
For every minute before or after the above times, the distance will be reduced by 1 NM distance.
Direct flight distance:
The distance from the airfield reference point of departure to ARP Bern airport LSZB 46°54’51” N, 7°29’50” (or center of runway of departure in absence of an ARP).

The participant/team MUST proof the flown distance by two means:

The PiC has to hand over the signed “confirmation of departure airfield” to the responsible of the eTrophy Daniel Wenger at the latest 30 minutes after landing.
Logged flight data:
The flight has to be logged as .IGC-file (or.GPX) which has to be handed over at the latest 30 minutes after landing.

Aircraft & Categories – every aircraft which has the follwing qualities:
electric propulsion system as a main onboard propulsion system for the aircraft, and
at least one pilot on board (no UAV)
The aircrafts are divided into the following three categories:
electric:
- single energy storage system
hybrid:
- electric motor for propulsion with more than one energy storage device or power source or parallel hybrid
glider:
- electric motor equipped
- self launch capability
* The board of Electrifly-In decides which aircraft will fly in which category. Participants will be informed after their registration in which category they have been assigned. The board reserves the right to change the category definition at any time. Exception can be applied for border line cases.
Safety Considerations:
Flight safety has top priority in all actions around this electric flight contest.
Fair-Mindness/Honesty:
The intention of the organization commitee is to keep the rules as simple as possible and the proof for the flight as easy as possible to comply with.
Therefore, we ask every team and participant of this challenge to be honest with the achieved flight data.
Judging Panel:
The judging panel consists of the organization commitee members of the Electrifly-In Switzerland.
Legal Considerations:
- participation to this challenge is voluntary.
- the aviation rules and regualtions applicable to the respective aircraft and flight crew have to be complied with and lie in the full responsibility of the teams/participant.
- the decision of the judging panel cannot be disputed.
** If you fly in from abroad, don’t forget to fill in the mandatory customs form for Bern Airport.
