Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you are logged in to that website.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are text files stored on your computer to help analyze your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie is usually transferred to and stored on a Google server in the USA. IP anonymization is activated on this website, meaning your IP address is shortened by Google within EU member states or other countries in the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

Google uses this information on behalf of the website operator to evaluate website use, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website and internet usage. Your IP address transmitted by your browser within Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Twitter Integration

Our pages include features from the Twitter service (Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Using Twitter and the “Retweet” function links the websites you visit to your Twitter account and makes this known to other users. This includes transferring data such as IP address, browser type, and visited pages to Twitter.

We have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or how it is used by Twitter. For more information, refer to: http://twitter.com/privacy
Adjust your privacy settings at: http://twitter.com/account/settings or contact privacy@twitter.com.

Use of Google AdSense

This website uses Google AdSense, a service for including advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons (invisible graphics) to collect information such as visitor traffic. The information, including your IP address, is transferred to a Google server in the USA and may be shared with Google’s partners. Your IP address will not be merged with other data by Google.

You can prevent cookies via your browser settings, but this may limit full functionality. By using this website, you consent to Google processing your data as described above.

Use of Google +1

With the Google +1 button, you can publish information globally and receive personalized content from Google. Google stores both the +1 you give and information about the page you viewed. These may appear with your profile name and image in Google services.

You need a globally visible Google profile to use +1. This name may replace another name used in your Google account. Google may share statistics about +1 activities with users or partners like publishers or advertisers.

Embedded YouTube Videos

We embed YouTube videos on some of our pages. The provider is YouTube LLC. When visiting a page with a YouTube plugin, a connection is made to YouTube servers, telling them which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, your browsing behavior can be linked to your personal profile. Log out to prevent this.

When a video starts, cookies are set to collect user behavior data.

How Long We Store Your Data

Comments and their metadata are stored indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.

For registered users, we store the personal information in their profiles. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal data anytime (username cannot be changed). Administrators can also view and edit this data.

Your Rights to Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an export of your personal data, including all data you have provided. You may also request the deletion of all personal data we hold about you, excluding data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
